Happy New Year and all that Jazz!

We had a great Christmas....Yes, you read it right, I said Christmas! There was a fantastic little video that kind of wrapped up my feelings on the whole Christmas/Happy Holidays thing.... Let me see if I can find it.

Howdy, howdy

Hey, yall! I'm still here. Busy with things. Soccer, taxi'ing kids everywhere, work, making curtains for our camper and thanks to my buddy Cyndi we're now Webkinz freaks here at our house.

Wow

ACK! I can't believe it's been so long since I posted. It's been so dang busy and now we're coming up on the holiday season. ARGH! But anyway, have a great day, I'll be back!

Kitty Dress

Ok, finally.....

It's Done!

Phew! I got youngest Princess' dress done. Remember, the one I was complaining about? I didn't get to start it till about 7:00 last night. I stayed up until 1 this morning and got up again at 6. The wedding shower was at 10am. I finished it at 9:15. There's some spots around the ruffles that I should take out and redo since it's a bit crooked, but it turned out pretty cute!

I'm trying to get a pic off the camera, but for some reason, the software isn't being recognized

Alzheimer's Memory Walk

Oh my goodness! Alzheimer's is such a horrid disease! People end up a fraction of what they used to be. My grandpa had Alzheimer's. He was a state patrol officer for years, so it was so hard to watch this proud man's mind deteriorate. He couldn't even remember to do everyday things. He couldn't be left alone, so that hurt his pride. My grandma had to take care of him just as you would a young child, such as Grandpa knew he was supposed to do "something" such as brush his teeth, but without Grandma there to constantly remind him, he couldn't remember exactly what "something" was.

Luckily, there are people who care about finding a cure for this horrible disease. The Alzheimer's Association has been searching for a cure and supporting these people who need it. You, too, can support this worthy cause, by partaking in a Memory Walk in your area. There are many around the country, I'm sure there's one near you! I can't urge you enough to get out there and support this association, because you never know when this disease will strike your grandparents or parents.

Go now and sign up! Be a team captain! Get your family and co-workers to help your team, get the neighborhood to be a team, get moms from your child's class to be a team! There's really no excuse not to! Please help this worthy cause!

Don't You Hate That?

Youngest Princess is in my friend's wedding in a month. I'm making her flower girl dress. I cut out the pattern, and according the pattern back, it should fit fine. My grandma and I held it up to Princess and it needs some added to the chest. No problem, right? Well, before I cut up the flower girl material, I went to Joann's and bought some other material to make a dress out of to see how my alterations will turn out. Princess picked some kitty fabric and I have to admit, it is adorable. I wanted the Mickey Mouse material, but I got vetoed. ;) So anyway, tonight I sit down to cut out the material (the job I hate most) and realized I didn't wash the material. UGH! I've been washing all day, I could have thrown it in with those loads, so now I have to wait until the current load is done so I can throw it in.

Hilarious!

This is too funny! Go read this eBay auction. This mom, Dawn, is a fantastic writer. And look! She's also got a blog! Good reading!

Back to School

Wow! I can't believe the summer's almost over! This week, Oldest Princess has locker assignments and we have to pay her fees. Ay yi yi. I just paid bills too, well attempted to might be a better phrase. ;-) Anyway, next week, Youngest Princess has a BBQ to meet her teacher. She already knows her, but it'll be nice to get reacquainted.

Moving in New Jersey?

Are you in or near New Jersey? Are you planning on moving soon and need a moving company in NJ? Check out www.homebulletin.net and get a 'free competitive moving quote'.

I think that's a fantastic idea! I love having all the names and numbers in one spot! No more digging around the phone book trying to keep track of who I've called and who offers what services.

What a Day!

Phew! I'm beat! Let's see, we did so much today, I'll see if I can remember it all. I know you're all dying with anticipation of where we've been. Ha!

*Princesses' swimming lessons
*Target to get wedding shower gifts. Didn't find item that was clearanced. Found it, but it wasn't clearanced like it said it was online.
*Go home, check registry again.
*Head to Target #2 to check their registry. Get half way there, realize we forgot Oldest Princesses flute we were going to take in to be cleaned before school starts, so we turn around and head home
*Get home, get flute
*Back to Target #2. Same thing, not clearanced, but at least this time we got all the pages to the registry. Shop for other things for shower.
*Go to Kmart, where Cyndi told me they had cute Ts on sale. Ours didn't have them BOGO like hers. Oh well, didn't have what I was looking for anyway.
*Go to music store, argue with the guy that it needs cleaned. Especially since it's under warranty until I pay it off and I just dropped off the last payment
*Go to Wendy's for lunch and listen to some guy talk his tablemate's ear off about work crap.
*Go downtown to mall and drive around the block 4 times to find a parking place on the street as I have our stupid truck with the piperack on it and can't get into the parking garage.
*Run to Hallmark to look at Webkinz
*Run to Aeropostale because Oldest Princess had to go look *insert eyeroll here*
*Come home, realize I should have gone to the bank while downtown, but forgot
*Listed on eBay, still not showing as of this publication
*Parents called wanting to know if we wanted to go with them to get cat supplies for the cat that adopted them.
*Went to PetSmart, PetCo (it's where the pets go afterall) and Walmart
*Went back to their house, searching for said cat, who was nowhere to be found. Finally decide to have Mom bring us home and she looks out and cat is sitting there looking all innocent. So, bring her in and Oldest Princess plays with the cat for a while. Finally, we're driven home.
*Realize I missed my work shift at 8:30. ACK!

Ebay

I listed something on eBay 4.5 hours ago and it's still not showing in the searches. I find that a bit odd. They sent me the email saying that it's listed. I know it takes a while to show, but 4.5 hours?????? That's a bit much, I think.

Gifts for Men

When Father's Day, Christmas or Craig's birthday comes around, I always have trouble coming up with gifts for him. Same thing with my dad. My dad is a big car nut, so I'd love to get him one of these wall plates. He'd probably like the flame ones. They're really cool or since they're flames, I guess they'd be rather hot, huh? hehehe The diamond plate ones are pretty cool too. I'd have to get him a matching diamond plate garbage can for his shop because every shop needs a cool garbage can.

Blog Rolls

I'm noticing that not all my blogs on my blogroll are showing that they're updated. Anyone know a reason why?

Vet Visit

Wow! It took 2 hours at the vets office today. Sweet Pea had to have her drainage tubes taken out. Doctor said that she's looking really good, so that's a plus. She's just worried because of where the injuries/seepage is, Sweet Pea could end up with a urinary infection. She also didn't charge us for this visit! Phew! That was a load off my mind!

Moderation? Or Free-for-All?

What is your opinion on this parenting debate? I'm of the camp that allows my children to have things in moderation, hoping to thwart their desire to eat sweets until they're sick. I've even used this in my own life, while doing Weight Watchers. If I allow (and make note of it, of course) myself to have one cookie/cake/whateversoundsgoodatthemoment, I don't have the desire to eat the whole cookie jar of cookies.

I'm hoping the Princesses will follow through with this moderation when it comes to their finances. I'm trying to teach them that credit cards shouldn't be thought of as "free" money, because, we all know, it's far from free! Wish me luck!

Wordless Wednesday

Whew, what a weekend!

We went to visit my grandparents, but before we left, I heard a commotion outside. I got out there and didn't see anything. Sounded like a dog fight. Our kitty didn't come home until 8:30 Sunday night....the fight wasn't dogs, it was cats. Our kitty didn't fare too well. Craig and I took her in Sunday night and $400 later, she's got antibiotics and stitches with 4 drains. Tomorrow, I have to take her in to get the drains removed. Cha-Ching!

Boatangel Outreach Centers

Our Ford Taurus has been sitting in front of our house for almost a year now. Last November, when Craig was driving to work, the transmission went out. We'd kind of had the inkling that it was going and we even had it checked out, but were told it'll either drive for a long time, or it'll go out. Obviously it went out.

There are places that will accept Car Donations like our Taurus. They take the cars (running or not) and sell them to dealers or at auctions and use the money to fund charities like Boatangel Outreach Centers. As a donor, you don't have to worry about trying to sell your car, plus you get tax credit for a charitable donation! It's a win-win for all involved.

If you've never heard of Boatangel Outreach, please go check them out! They're doing fantastic things with the monies earned from people donating their cars. They have programs in California, Arizona and Ethiopia. Through a one-year training program, they've transformed former drug addicts and gang members into upstanding young men for today's society through the word of God. Boatangel is also sponsoring outreach centers in which homeless people are able to get away from negative influences like drugs and alcohol, all free of charge. What an awesome program!

Please, if you have a vehicle, RV, boat or plane just sitting around, please consider donating it to http://www.carangel.com so it can help transform someone's life!

Fun Weekend

The Princesses have been bugging us to set up the tents in my parents backyard the last few weekends. Either we've had something going on or rain was in the forecast. Finally, last night, we set up the 3 tents. Each Princess had to have their own tent, but Youngest's is really itty bitty. Last night after going to bed, she got a little scared, so I just moved her, tent and all, into our tent. LOL We had fun!

Babies Babies Babies

Babies are popping up everywhere! A friend I used to work with just had a baby boy. My cousin is having another baby girl in a couple months. A couple people I post with online are pregnant. I tell you, it's babies, babies everywhere!

So, in looking around for baby gifts, I've looked at Beauty and Lace Baby. What a fun site! You can find links to cute and fashionable things for mom and baby! I never had a sling when the Princesses were little, but I wish I would have. It would have made doing things around the house a lot easier! Beauty and Lace Baby has a link to some gorgeous slings. Not babyish looking, but real classy! They've also got a link up there to ohmygiddyaunt.com.au. I love the name because I was a giddy aunt when my niece and nephews were born.

So if you're looking for something for baby and/or mom and you don't want the usual run-of-the-mill gifts, check out Beauty and Lace Baby.

I am Fuming!

Craig goes out back to BBQ dinner and says, "Where's [Oldest Princess'] bike?" I reply, on the back porch. Well, it wasn't. His and mine are, but hers isn't. Some assclown stole it off the back porch! Didn't take mine and Craig's, or the pumps, etc, on our bikes. Just hers. Now joke's on them as hers was about $200 and ours were considerably more. But anyway, we've lived here 10 years and haven't had any problems, even when a certain someone (who shall remain nameless....grrrr) leaves his vehicle unlocked. This was on the back porch, behind the gate. You can't see it from the front. I'm betting that someone saw it over our back fence. This highly pisses me off!

14th Anniversary

Yesterday was our 14th wedding anniversary. I've looked at some of my old haunts for pics, but since one of my main webpages has been down FOREVER (but hey, I can't complain, the space is free), I can't get to a wedding pic.

We didn't do much since on Saturday we went to the coast and went to dinner. Instead, we were at my parents house changing the chain and sprocket on my quad. Bahahaha Romantic, eh?

Look what my hubby bought me for our 14th anniversary!!!!! I love that man!!

Sad Anniversary

Well, yesterday was the 8th anniversary of my miscarriage. I didn't notice till I had to write the date out on a check, then it hit me. I handled the day pretty well though. Time does make it easier. Also having youngest Princess has helped a great deal, as we are so blessed to have her and her sister.

Footloose

I'm sitting here watching one of my all-time favorite movies. Footloose I am such a big fan of the movies from the 80s. LOL

Other favorites include Steel Magnolias, Pretty Woman and Dirty Dancing. There's a ton more, I'm just too tired to think of them right now. LOL

Keep on Your Schedule!

As I was sitting here this morning, I realized I wasn't feeling good. Light headed and just all around blech! I forgot to take my "happy pill" yesterday. Doh! So I just ate a banana and took my pill. Hopefully it'll kick in soon!

Fleas!

Our cat, Sweet Pea is driving me nuts! She is constantly biting and scratching and since we got her a little collar with a bell attached, it's driving me insane listening to that little bell.

We've been thinking about getting one of those flea dips. A couple years ago she had fleas really bad and I don't want to go through that again!

I'm learning a lot about flea control from Fleascontol.com. Did you know that there are certain plants that you can plant in your garden to repel fleas? Wonderful smelling plants like lavender, eucalyptus and mint! I think I will have to get some and plant around my yard! It not only will smell good, but hopefully keep those pesky fleas away!

Girly Drama

Wow, Oldest Princess's friends (or so-called friends) are up to it again. She doesn't know which one is to be believed. One friend had a sleep-over last weekend, which we thought she was because her mom had said something about it when she picked up friend from our sleepover. Princess never heard from her so we just wrote it off. Fast forward to today and she finds out that friend did have one and other friend wouldn't speak to friend #1 if she invited Princess. I just have shake my head. I just want to put Princess in a bubble to protect her.

Saving Money

Every time I shop online, I look for a coupon to use. A dollar is a dollar, you know, and hey, I'm cheap!

www.keepcash.com has a ton of discount codes and coupons for a bunch of different stores. The website is updated daily with the latest deals. I can't believe all the coupons I've found on that site! I've seen many stores on there that I shop online at. I'm definitely bookmarking this site.

I've been looking for Disney Crocs. I've found them at www.shoebuy.com and there's even Shoebuy.com coupons. I'm so excited! I've been wanting these for quite a while and to get them even cheaper makes them a great deal!

Before you buy anything online, go take a look, I'm sure you'll find a money saving coupon!

How Walt Disney Cartoons are Made

I found this really interesting, especially since I'm reading the biography of Walt Disney and reading through it all and then to see it in action is pretty cool.

Weekend

Well, I didn't get as much done as I hoped, but I did have fun. :)

As I was picking up Oldest Princess from her sleepover, my check engine light came on. I stopped at a Walgreens, turned it off, restarted, and hoped it would clear itself. It didn't. I proceeded to go get gas. Started it back up and it ran like crap, barely moving and sounding like it was going to die. I edged over to the side, shut it off and restarted. It started and ran fine. ARGH! Craig was out of town, my parents are on their vacation, so I took it to a friend of my dad's who scanned it. It seems to be a cam sensor. Brian said we should at least start with replacing it, but he doesn't exactly know where it is, so he'll have to research it. Ay yi yi. All I'm seeing is dollar signs in front of my eyes.

Scrapbooking Crop

Yay! Tomorrow, Youngest Princess and I are going to Craig's aunt & uncle's house for a scrapping crop. (Ha! I first typed crap LOL!) I'm part of a Scrapbooking Message Board and they're having an "Extreme Crop" this weekend. I looked over their challenges and I should be able to do most of them. Normally, the challenges are hard for me as I really don't get too involved on my pages and I normally don't have the "latest and greatest" supplies, so I'm stoked about this crop. I hope to get a lot done!

Virtual Sandcastles

Youngest Princess and I just built some Sandcastles. It was a lot of fun! You had many options to choose from and you could even color the sand. You got to add fun little things like beach balls, seagulls, crabs and even flags to the top of your sand towers. It was really easy to do, even Youngest Princess colored her sandcastle by herself. She even wants to go make some more. I guess she loves digging in the sand whether it's real or virtual!

The website even has a sandcastle gallery so you can see what sandcastles other people have built. Some of them are quite extravagant! I've always been envious of people who can make sandcastles actually look like something! Mine usually look like what they are.....upside down buckets. Thank goodness for the internet, where my sandcastle looks like something!

Make sure your speakers are turned up too! There are sounds of seagulls and waves crashing on the beach. If you close your eyes you can just imagine yourself sitting there with a cool breeze blowing over you and a cool drink in your hand.

Go build your own Sandcastles. It's a blast! I even built one without youngest Princess. I really wish I was sitting on that beach right now!

Woohoo, it's Friday!

Yay! It's Friday! We don't have much on the schedule for this weekend. I wonder if I can squeeze some scrapbooking in. ;) Princesses have swimming lessons today and Craig took the day off. It's shaping up to be a good day!!

Hope your day/weekend is great too!!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the daddys in bloggerland! Today will be a busy one. First we have church, then I work 1-4, we're going to Craig's aunt & uncle's house for a BBQ and I work 5-8. I'm not sure exactly when I'll be seeing my dad today. LOL

Free Coloring Pages

Have you seen the site that has Free Coloring Pages for kids? The Princesses are going to love this site! Good thing we have enough computers here to go around, or I'd be having to give up some of my computer time!

I've been playing around with it. I colored a page with Tigger and Pooh. Yep, they even have Disney pages! I was thrilled to see that and the Princesses will be too! They're as big of Disney freaks as I am. There's also Pokemon, Barbie, Hello Kitty and Bratz, just to name a few. They also have subjects such as holidays, food, transportation, sports and more. Oh goodness, I just looked again and found a My Little Pony page. Youngest Princess will be picking that one as her favorite, I'm sure!

It is really simple to color your page. Find the page you want to color, click on the color you want and then click on the picture where you want the color to go. Simple as that! You know what else is cool? You can upload your own coloring page and color it in. When you're done coloring, you can save your picture to show your friends and family, just make sure you're registered first.

See, it starts as:

and it becomes this in no time!

It doesn't matter if you're 3 or 83, go check it out! I bet you'll have fun!!

It's a Jungle Out There!

Wow! Our backyard was overgrown with weeds. I took some pictures about a month ago, but I didn't take any before pics today. I should have. The weeds doubled in size. Anyway, I got this one area by my garden and in the corner done. It looks a hundred times better. It still has work to be done, but it's much, much better!

Have You Heard the News?

Have you heard? Pay Per Post has a new campaign going for blogger outreach. They've raised 7 Million dollars. No, that's not a misprint....it's in the millions! Ka-ching! Because of this, Pay Per Post is releasing over $7,000 in opportunities for us posties. That's really showing the posties some love, huh?

Of course, $7,000 doesn't exactly equal $7 Million, does it? I think Pay Per Post should spend that other $6,993,000 on the posties as well. Every registered postie could be given their choice of a new car, a trip, or just a big ol' fat check! I think that would be fantastic! Of course, in the realm outside of my dream world, the money should probably be used for things like promotion, getting new clients, staffing, etc. You know, the boring stuff. hehehe But, with that being said, because of promotion, staffing, etc, the posties will still benefit, so I guess either way will be a win-win!

If you haven't gone and signed up with Pay Per Post, what in the world are you waiting for? You get paid to write about the things that interest you. Real money, not credits somewhere. Real cash! Go sign up now! There's no time like the present, is there?

Check out this news:

The PayPerPost Revolution Accelerates, Sponsored
Blogging Marketplace Secures $7 Million Series B

Draper Fisher Jurvetson leads round and joins Board of Directors

ORLANDO, FL – (June 12, 2007) – PayPerPost, the leading marketplace for advertisers to reach bloggers and other consumer content creators, today announced it has completed a $7 million second round investment led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, an investor in the company's Series A and one of the world’s leading high-technology venture capital firms. The financing brings the total amount of capital raised by PayPerPost to over $10 million, giving the company considerable resources for further development as the industry’s leading Consumer Generated Advertising marketplace. Additional participants in the round include existing investors Inflexion Partners and Village Ventures as well as new investor DFJ Gotham. With this investment, DFJ Managing Director Josh Stein also joins PayPerPost’s Board of Directors.

“PayPerPost created this exciting new advertising space and has established itself as the industry leader,” said Ted Murphy, chief executive officer of PayPerPost. “Although we’ve only used a portion of our first round capital, this added support from investors unlocks significant growth potential. Our content creator and advertiser ROI metrics clearly demonstrate the upside for PayPerPost’s model. We intend to use this capital to build the infrastructure, visibility and professional expertise necessary to reach and retain a greater network of advertisers and content creators than ever before.”

Since its founding in June of 2006, PayPerPost has signed more than 6,500 advertisers to its groundbreaking service, which has enabled Consumer Content Creators to be compensated for their efforts discussing specific companies, products or services via blogs, videos or other media. The content creators are required to disclose relationships with advertisers on their blog, providing transparency for the end reader. Over 125,000 Internet postings, most in the form of blogs, have already earned money for their creators through PayPerPost’s innovative marketplace. PayPerPost recently released PayPerPost Direct, a disruptive new service that allows advertisers to contract and negotiate directly with individual bloggers they identify through a safe, managed system.

“PayPerPost has laid a strong foundation for the future,” noted Tim Draper, founder and managing director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. “It continues to attract a critical mass of participants from both the advertising and blogging communities. Analogous to Overture’s sponsored search model, we believe PayPerPost’s business model holds disruptive potential and will enable the company to thrive in the evolving paid-content arena.”

To mark the $7 million dollar funding, PayPerPost has launched a new website detailing the company’s service offering at http://www.payperpost.com. Bloggers and advertisers can easily sign up at the site and begin leveraging the self service marketplace.

Chocolate Dumplings

You know what sounds REALLY good right about now? Chocolate Dumplings. Now, before you go all "EWWWWW" on me, let me explain. I got this recipe from my grandma. She'd gotten it out of the newspaper years ago. I've been making them since I was about 16 or so. It's basically a chocolate cake (dumpling) in chocolate sauce. Mmmmmmmm

When my dad was working graveyard shift, I used to make them and he'd take them to work for the guys. Because of that, I even got a marriage proposal. LOL My dad is still good friends with that guy and we still joke that he's my "other" husband. LOL

Bindi the Jungle Girl

As I was browsing through videos at The News Room, I came across this video.

Steve Irwin's daughter, Bindi, is creating a TV show following in her father's footsteps. It's called Bindi the Jungle Girl and will be on the Discovery Kids channel. I love watching her, she's so animated and seems to be 'down to earth'.

The show will be about conservation and education of the wildlife around us. Some scenes will include Steve Irwin, since he was involved in the first few episodes.

I think Bindi's father would be proud! Her mother, Terry, thinks so as well. Anything I've ever seen about the late Steve Irwin shows he cared about family and animals. This show has both! My Princesses will love this show. They're both animal lovers.

I couldn't believe all the videos at The News Room. Anything that has been in the news was there! The clips aren't "last week's news" either, (although you can find last week's news too)! You can see really recent news clips easily. The whole site was easy to use. Inserting the video clip into my post was a piece of cake. I clicked on the copy button and it was copied! Simple as that!

Go try them out for yourselves! You're bound to find something of interest to you!

Coupons for Airlines?

When looking for airfare, do you think about looking for coupons for the airfare? I don't, or should say, I didn't. I would go to the websites and try to find the cheapest deal, but didn't know I could find actual coupon codes for my travel! In browsing through the store listing at couponchief.com, I found they had United Airlines coupons.

Next year is our 15th anniversary. Craig and I have already started looking into going to Walt Disney World. That was where we spent our honeymoon, so we thought it appropriate to go back, sans kids! I'm so excited I can't stand it. In doing our preliminary planning, we've realized that airfare will be a huge chunk of the total cost of that vacation. I'm most definitely going to be looking for coupons to help us out!

Sleepover

Well, Oldest Princess's sleepover was a success. One girl couldn't make it she just had the 2 friends over. They were very good, but didn't get to sleep until after 4. I kept waking up all night, but not really because of them. I heard talking, but I never once had to say....be quiet!!! But, with all that being said, I slept REALLY well last night. LOL

1408 Movie

Have you seen the previews for the 1408 Movie? It looks fantastic! If you're into suspense thriller type movies, you're going to love this one!

The movie stars Samuel L. Jackson (who I love as an actor!) and John Cusack. Watch the trailer here in my post and you'll see what I mean. It looks so intense!

John Cusack plays an author who only believes in what he can physically see. He doesn't believe in the afterlife and wrote numerous books on the subject. He's writing a new book about spending the night in haunted hotel rooms, where he learns of one room, 1408, in the Dolphin Hotel that is haunted. Samuel L. Jackson is the hotel manager and he warns John Cusack that 56 people have died in room 1408. He states that noone ever lasts more than an hour in that room. John Cusack's character sees this as a challenge. He's still trying to discredit the afterlife stating he's never seen a ghost, but, while staying in room 1408, Cusack's character may be in for a change of mind.

The 1408 Movie is based upon a novel by renowned author, Stephen King. Everyone has heard of Stephen King's novels. Given the basis for the movie, it will be fantastic! This is definitely one that I would love to go see!

Rock Around the Clock

Oldest Princess is practicing her flute and came out and wanted to play a certain ending to one of her songs cause she really liked it. I said, "Oh, you're playing the Happy Days theme" and she said, "NO! Rock Around the Clock" (Duh, mom!) ;) She'd never heard the song before so I found it for her.

Snicker Snicker

So I'm sitting here at work (sssssshhhhhh!) and these people come in. They end up knocking over the vase of silk flowers that have the little round glass pebbles in it. Of course it makes a ton of noise. I'm sitting here trying not to laugh. Yes, I'm snickering.

Craptastic Mother

I must be the most craptastic mother on the planet!

I noticed this morning that the little marigold plant that Youngest Princess planted in Sunday School and gave me last week for Mother's Day was all dry and the flowers were hanging over. I quickly watered it, but it's too far gone I'm afraid. :( I couldn't even keep it alive for a week!

VisaBuxx

Being the mom of a pre-teen, I think this is a fantastic idea! Have you heard about PAYjr Visa Buxx? It's a chore and allowance system for kids. Plus, when Oldest Princess becomes a teen, she can get a prepaid VisaBuxx card.

The whole system just seems like a win-win! I can assign the chores and then print out a chore chart. The system will even send an email to Oldest Princess reminding her of the chore and how much it's worth, so I don't have to sound like a nagging mom. I can do it the high-tech way! *wink*

Oldest Princess can watch her savings add up. She can also learn about budgeting for what she really needs, as opposed to what she thinks she wants. Her thinking is changed when it's her money.

In a few months, when she becomes a teen, she can earn the prepaid MasterCard. I can track where she's spending her money. It's such a great idea! She knows how much she has to spend and can't go over it!

Is it Tuesday Yet?

Oh my goodness. This last week has been so hectic! I worked over 40 hours at my one job this past week. We were getting ready to have an auction to benefit Royal Family Kids Camps for foster kids. One night I worked until 9:00. Friday night, the night of the auction, I didn't get home until almost 11:30. But, we made $33K for the camp!! WOOHOO!!

Yesterday, Youngest Princess and I were in a parade. It wasn't really sunny, but I managed to get sunburned. Luckily Youngest Princess didn't. From there, I went to help with the school's garage sale. Today I was in the nursery during church. Tomorrow night is the Princesses' dance recital. Come Tuesday, I'm free!!!!!!!!

HDTV Tuesdays

Have you heard about HDTV Tuesdays? You've heard me talk about Pay Per Post, right? Well, if you just crawled out from under your rock and have no clue what I'm talking about, Pay Per Post is the blog network that pays you for blogging about things you would blog about anyway.

Anyway, I did say HDTV Tuesday, didn't I? On to the good stuff!!! Pay Per Post is giving away really cool prizes. For example, the first Tuesday in May, they gave away Apple TVs. Last Tuesday, the big prize was a Playstation 3. This week, you could grab up a Yamaha Surround Sound System, a Slingbox, a Nintendo Wii (and you know how hard those are to find!), or a Logitech Universal Remote. We have that remote and love it! If you'll remember, I posted that Craig even programmed it to run the Roomba!! LOL

Anyway, go give some love to the sponsor Bid4Prizes.com of these fantastic prizes. It's a fun site to win some fun prizes! The lowest unique bid wins! What an interesting concept. Just think what you could bid for and win! Right now, they even have a quad up there! Right up my alley! *Grin* Of course, there's other cool prizes like cash! Who doesn't like cash?

Speaking of cash, go on over to Pay Per Post and sign up. You get cash for blogging!! Then you can spend cash on whatever you want!

Reunion

This year is Craig's 20 year reunion. It's now May and we've figured we've got to hear something soon. The light bulb finally went off and I did an internet search. Lo and behold, they have a website. Craig seems to be on the "Lost" list. Gee, that's funny, we've lived in the same house we lived in 10 years ago and they have all that information. It was in the thingy they sent out after the 10 year about what people are doing, how many kids, etc. On the website, they have our last name spelled wrong. :eyeroll: I suppose that's the reason he's "lost" but doesn't really make a whole lot of sense since if they pulled their head out and looked at the thingy that has our address in it.......

You know what's funny (NOT!) is he had to track them down for his 10 year too. He was lost then, even though his mom had the same phone number he did in high school. :eyeroll:

Can You Feel the Love Tonight?

Ok, so I'm not Elton John. LOL But I am a Pay Per Post blogger (or Postie as we're called in PPP circles). You've heard about Pay Per Post, right? Do you blog? Well, guess what! You can get paid to blog, too.

I've been blogging with Pay Per Post since February and I've made almost $250.00. I could have made more, but I've been so busy with life, I haven't taken the time to sit down and blog much!

The $250 is basically "found" money. I LOVE "found" money. LOL I'm actually saving it to get Oldest Princess some new glasses. She needs them as she hasn't had new ones in about 3 years and her current ones are all scratched up. I also want to save up for the next time we go to Disneyland or Walt Disney World. It will be spending money that I won't have to feel guilty over.

Would you like "found" money too? What are you waiting for? Go! Sign up!

Great Week!

It's been a wonderful week! The weather's been outstanding! Yesterday, I mowed the front lawn. I did half of the back lawn and ran out of gas. LOL Need to get more tomorrow.

Youngest Princess and I tried the grill to see if we had propane left (we couldn't remember). Yep, we had propane. WOOHOO!! I cleaned up the grill and we had barbecued chicken last night. Yum!

Oh to be a ladybug

Youngest Princess just informed me she wishes she was a ladybug. I then asked why. Her answer: "So I can fllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!" Hmmm, maybe I have a future pilot on my hands. Or, maybe she'll hang glide which will then send me to the loony bin. LOL I don't think I have enough nerves to watch that!

Coupons

Whenever I shop online, I look for online coupons. A penny saved is a penny earned, right? CouponChief.com has over 1,000 stores. You'll most likely find the store you're looking for!

There's a section for The Children's Place coupons. The Children's Place has some awesome deals! But what I really like is that you can still use a coupon code even if you're getting a sale or clearance price! Right now, couponchief.com is showing four different coupons for The Children's Place. One of them is even for $5 flat rate shipping! I love flat rate shipping from online stores!

Don't forget to go check out CouponChief.com before you buy!!

Weather

It is May, right? OK, just checking.

Last week was sunny, overcast, pouring buckets, hailing and wind. Crazy, I tell you!

This week it's supposed to be 79! Too bad I work all day and then both girls have dance tonight. *sigh*

Small Business Bookkeeping

Since I'm a bookkeeper, I know how difficult doing payroll and keeping the books can be for a business.

Accountingparadise.com has made that process a lot more simple for small business bookkeeping. They have set up numerous companies and you can even get Quick Books online at a discount. You can't beat that! Bookkeeping services start at $10 a month. $10 a month is so cheap for a little piece of mind knowing that everything is taken care of.

If you need payroll services, prices start at $6 per employee. Payroll can be such a confusing process with all the federal and state taxes and forms. Letting someone else worry about all the "fine print" is definitely worth $6 an employee!

Check outAccountingparadise.com if you need an inexpensive way to keep your books and payroll organized to the last penny!

Someone was looking out for us

So after church we had to run to Target to get the cat food. After leaving Target, we had to stop behind people getting out of the car (guy was dropping them off) and this lady backed out from a parking space and hit the side of my Cherokee. I look out my window and see a cartrunk right outside the window. The car pulls back into the spot and I get out (imgagining the whole side caved in) and look at the damage. Craig asks, "So how bad is it?" I look at the back door and don't see much. I then close my door and don't see much. The woman gets out of her car asking if we're ok. Believe it or not, neither one of our cars has any damage. Not a scratch!! We all couldn't believe it. She must have hit us square on so that her bumper gave and our shocks took the brunt of it. We were all very thankful that someone was looking out for us today!

Great Weekend

The weather was beautiful. It was between 65-70 degrees. Saturday afternoon, I helped a friend paint her two bedrooms. The one bedroom had been painted black by the people before them. That was fun to cover up. NOT! LOL We put 2 coats of primer on it and it's finally ready for paint. We also painted her bedroom. It turned out really pretty. I woke up yesterday morning pretty sore, but not as sore as I expected to be.

Yesterday I ended up singing on Worship Team. I was in the back though because I hadn't planned on singing so I was wearing capri pants. LOL Yesterday afternoon was my cousin's daughter's (is that my 2nd cousin?? I never understood that stuff) birthday party. It was fun and yummy. We came home and I mowed the lawn (Yes, I just mowed it on Monday, but the fertilizer I used is really working!! LOL). I then watched a bunch of stuff I had DVR'd and really didn't do a whole lot the rest of the day. Nice and relaxing!

P-U!

I went out to continue to mow the back lawn and I pulled and the lawn mower started right up. YAY! Then died. Started. Then died. I looked in the gas tank. Almost dry. *sigh* Went and found our little gas can and it too was almost gone. Oh well, put as much as I could into the mower, but of course since I had to turn it upside down, gas spilled from the vent and all over both hands. So now, even though I've washed numerous times, I can still smell it.

It's Raining....again

Thursday and Friday were gorgeous. Youngest Princess kept asking if we could go out and plant the flowers we bought last weekend. Would have been a great idea had I not been sick with strep throat....again! UGH! I need to call the doc because they gave me straight penicillin and I think it's giving me stomach cramps. When it wears off, I feel better. Take another pill, start getting stomach cramps. Only half an hour till they open. But, my throat is feeling better. lol But of course, today, it's raining. Poor flowers will have to wait for another day.
